Absinthe Sapphire

Which spirits should be kept in the fridge?
I already know when making cocktails some of the ice is meant to melt when the alcohol is added but a friend at a bar said some should be kept in the fridge which was a bit confusing.
The spirits i have are:
Bols Gold
Blavod (vodka)
Havana Club Rum
Bombay Sapphire (Gin)
La Fee Absinthe
Triple Sec
Disaronno Amaretto
Yes i know my spirit collection is a bit lacking but im still at university
You’re fine with those liquors staying at room temperature.
I agree with the above answer. My freezer has about 7 varieties of vodka and tons of ice. But that’s just a personal preference. I likes me vodka ice cold. The other spirits I believe are best kept refrigerated are:
-Cream Based Liqueurs (Bailey’s, Advocaat, Vemeer Dutch Chocolate, Dooley’s, Godiva White Chocolate, etc. only if you don’t believe you’re going to use them quickly.)
-Lillet
-Lemoncello
-Orancello
-The 4 Germans (Jägermeister, Rumplemintz, Goldschläger & Bärenjäger)
-Aftershock
-Ice 101

The Absinthe Encyclopedia $231.65 Written by David NathanMaister, the book surveys the history of absinthe from earliest days right up to the present, with a particular focus on its glittering heyday in Belle Epoque France. Hundreds of full colour illustrations document every aspect of the drink its distillation and production, the grande marques that distributed it, the bars and cafs that served it, the patrons men and women, rich and poor, soldiers and politicians, poets, artists, lovers and boulevardiers who drank it. Special sections describe the various drinking rituals in exhaustive detail, others deal with absinthes popularity and spread in the USA, its alleged secondary effects and the disputed syndrome of absinthism, the hard fought and ultimately successful campaign to ban it in France, Switzerland and elsewhere, and 80 years later, its modern renaissance at the dawn of the 21st century. Author: NathanMaister, David Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 364 Publication Date: 2009/01/01 Language: English Dimensions: 11.32 x 8.08 x 0.99 inches |

Absinthe & Flamethrowers $12.95 Written for reasonable risk takers and suburban dads who want to add more excitement to their lives, this daring combination of science, history, and DIY projects explains why danger is good for you and details the art of living dangerously. All of the projects—from throwing knives, drinking absinthe, and eating fugu to cracking a bull whip, learning baritsu, and building a flamethrower—have short learning curves; are human-focused, as opposed to technology-centric; are affordable; and demonstrate true but reasonable risk. The guide maintains that risk takers are more successful, more interesting individuals who lead more fulfilling lives. What would the world be like if Thomas Edison retired after 30 years working for the railroad , it asks,  instead of getting fired for blowing up a rail car with one of his experiments?  Though the manual doesn’t advocate getting fired, it does reveal that making black powder is pure excitement. Unlike watching an action movie or playing a video game, real, edgy life experience changes a person. Each potentially life-altering project includes step-by-step directions and illustrations along with sidebar tips from experts in the field. |

The Little Green Book of Absinthe $15.99 A celebration of “the green goddess”-this is the first book to share absinthe recipes since it was recently legalized in the U.S. This enticing little volume presents a collection of more than 100 absinthe cocktail recipes that draw upon the classic roots of the drink as well as its new iterations. Readers will be entertained with nuggets of absinthe history and trivia, including the tradition of the green fairy, famous devotees of the drink, and the myths (or facts) of its hallucinatory properties. Readers will learn that: *America’s most famous early cocktail, the sazerac, was a New Orleans creation that called for a dash of absinthe *When the absinthe backlash started in the 1890s, Edgar Degas’ masterpiece L’Absinthe was booed off the auction block at Christie’s in London *An experienced absintheur can identify a brand from across the room just by watching how it louches-the way the herbs’ oils cloud the drink as the bartender adds water |

Red Velvet and Absinthe $14.95 Red Velvet and Absinthe explores love and lust with otherworldly partners who, by their sheer fantastical nature, evoke passion and desire far beyond that which any normal human being can inspire. Although the greats such as Bram Stoker, Edgar Allan Poe, and Daphne du Maurier are long dead, these contemporary authors keep the Gothic spirit alive and well by interpreting it in new and exciting ways. Red Velvet and Absinthe offers readers a collection of unique and original stories that conjure up the atmospheric and romantic spirit of the Gothic masters (and mistresses) but take things a bit further by adding to the brew a generous dosage of eroticism. Lie back and listen to the wind howling outside your window as you read these stories in the flickering light of a candle, the absinthe you’re sipping warming your body like the caressing touch of a lover’s fingers . . . |
