Cameo Choker
How much would a 1881 silver dollar be worth today?
I was in a woman’s shelter many years ago and one of the workers for the evening shift took us upstairs and offer us clothing and other donated things sent for the women living there. I did not need any clothing so I opted for the sheets and towels and such. when I looked inside one of the bags ,I found a very old choker necklace with a big cameo and three strand pearls, lemon oil in it’s original box, and a black box with an 1881 coin in it. I do not want to be taken advantage of so
I would appreciate any answers in this matter.
The 1881 Morgan dollar may have a mint mark above the DO in DOLLAR: (plain, Philadelphia; S, San Francisco; O, New Orleans; or CC, Carson City), and the retail values are as follows:
plain, S, and O: $15US to $30US in circulated grades and more if like new.
CC: $350US to $550US in circulated grades and more if like new.
You might have an 1881 US Trade dollar which would be worth much more if genuine.
