Changing Deck
Why does my tape deck keep changing sides and ejecting tapes?
The tape deck in my 1998 Durango has recently started malfunctioning. I can insert a tape and the deck will keep changing sides of the tape until it ultimately ejects the tape about 5 seconds later.
I need this deck in order to listen to my satellite radio as well as my ipod. I am aware of other methods of doing this besides the tape adapter but at this time I don’t have the money for anything else. FM adapters are crap and FM modulation is an option but not preferred at the moment. I’m not buying a new head unit.
So does anyone know if there is an easy fix to this problem? It seems like this is a simple mechanical error but who knows. Any help is appreciated.

I agree ^. Your Durango is simply telling you what century it is. The ejecting is due to the fact that dodge is recognizing that it is in fact a tape and not a CD, therefore you must drop a $100 for a new headunit and join the rest of us in this wonderful century
