Am I being cruel to the boys I babysit ?
Whenever I babysit 2 boys aged 9 & 11 their parents always tell me that they have devilish time getting them to go to sleep at night.
I on the other hand have no such difficulty as I insist on reading them a bedtime story …. sounds okay so far doesn’t it ?
Ha Ha Ha (add the odd cackle and your own sound effects here).
They beg me not to do it, but to no avail; I just sit back comfortably and take the greatest delight in reading them any book that I adore !
Thus far they’ve suffered through “Alice in Wonderland”, Cinderella” and books which include Princesses, Fairies, Unicorns, Ballerinas etc.
Yup those poor boys can’t wait to go to sleep, just so I’ll stop droning on & on & on & on…
So am I being harsh or am I simply enriching their lives with Girlish Stories.
You are not only enriching those boys with the stories, but you are teaching them PATIENCE…YOU my dear are a GOLDEN goose and a treasure.
