Ideas on writing a modern day fairy tale?
Well I have to do a speech in English class and I’ve decided to pick on retelling a well-known fairy tale but set in out modern days.
But I need some ideas ><
It has to be well-known though like Cinderella, Jack and the beanstalk, Red Riding Hood, 3 little pigs, etc.
Could you guys please give me some ideas or tell me some modern day fairy tales that you have written?
One cute idea is to take your town you live in – and pretend that once it was a mythical place – the center of creation. And you could tell stories about the North and West Winds which blew across the area…..
You could create characters like the lady did who wrote the Br’er Rabbit books – but they lived in YOUR valley or plain thousands of years ago. Back then the people who walked the ground could talk to the sun and the moon……

Bratz Kidz-Fairy Tales $9.98 The Bratz Kidz have promised their principal that they will put on a Fairy Tale play Showcase for the kindergartners at their school. But the girls’ hearts aren’t in it. Both girls end up needed the clever intervention of their three other friends to see them through. Yasmin, then tries to out perform Cinderella. Of course things go comically awry until Sasha, Cloe, and Jade show up to lend a hand. Having set the story of Cinderella back on the right course, the Kidz are zapped back to present day where they are supposed to perform a Fairy Tale Showcase for the kindergartners at their school. The eagerly start their show, having acquired a new-found appreciation for the classic tales and their heroines.
