Money Street
How to make money with street magic?

Hi I have loads of street magic and I was wondering how can I get money performing all I can think of is borrowing a tenner making it disappear then run lol just kidding I kinda want them to give me the money as a tip instead if them paying to see me but if there’s any other way of getting some cash let me know
p.s. If there’s any good street tricks could get me some cash let me know

A few things I have used in the past are:

1. Just put a tip jar next to you, or on your table that has the word TIPS on it.
(don’t knock it, it works)

2. Work into your routine near the end of a good effect some wording like:
“Well ladies and gentlemen, this is the last trick I do, as everything it must come to an end, thank you so much for watching, if you enjoyed the show, please Tip me anything you can, I love performing, but it costs me money to come out here, anything you give will insure I get to keep coming out here and make you laugh and say WOW… ”

Don’t be afraid to ask for tips, they know you put alot of work into your magic, and you SHOULD be paid for it. I make my living performing, I support a wife and child on it. There is nothing wrong with asking to be paid for your work.

3. use subtle suggestions, that aren’t so subtle.. in a comedic way.
“I will take your 10 dollar bill, and make it go to a magical place… my pocket. thank you.. (pretend to walk away.. then give it back. and say “well it was worth a try, are you sure? I work on tips you know… ” Then laugh.. its funny, AND it asks them to tip.

or use the same line and place it into a tip jar instead of your pocket..

In some parts of Philadelphia, you don’t die, you don’t get murdered, you don’t commit suicide or fall off a roof or come home and light a cigarette when the oven pilot has gone out, blowing half the block to Kingdom Come. You get yourself dead. It was Benny Lunch who got himself dead, “Benny Lunch” because he believed that no matter how bad things got, no matter how much people hated each other and tried to kill each other, you could get them to sit down at a meal and work out their differences. He’d get them together and somehow arrangements were made, deals were greased, details would get ironed out and if you were to ask Ben how it came down, he’d just shrug his shoulders and say in that side-of-the-mouth way he had of talking that all he did was pick up the check. But Benny Lunch got himself dead. And now it is up to Benny Cosicki’s daughter Andrea to find out who and why. Tall Andy, a demon with a basketball, just out of the University of Pennsylvania and aiming for a membership in the Newspaper Guild. Andy is going to find her father’s killer — because for sure he was killed; it was no accident. Benny Lunch knew the fire-ruined old neighborhood bar well enough to keep from falling through the second-story floor. Benny had met and married Andy’s mother there; the bar had Benny’s history in its blackened beams. So here is Andy, just hired by the Philadelphia Press to take over the Mr. Action column, which hasn’t been in action for several months, citizen complaints piling up all the while. Andy quickly discovers that the quiet man next to her, “Shep” Ladderback, whose desk is always clean, has a cabinet full of files holding everything about everybody. He’s also got a mind stuffed with memory and brains that work quietly and flawlessly, and she is more than lucky that he’s taken it on himself to be her guide. Kent’s years as a newspaperman in Philadelphia has been the perfect training for a book like Street Money . He knows the delicious details of the way politics works at the local level. He is as savvy about the scam artists fattening on the pretensions of the new suburban homeowners as he is about the former drug dealer who preaches hell-and-damnation in a deserted neighborhood bank. He takes us behind the scenes in a big-city newspaper. You could almost think of him as the live model for the all-knowing Ladderback. Between the assertive, independent, but still-learning Andy and the reclusive and somehow larger than life Ladderback, all sorts of wrongdoing and ill will is uncovered. It almost seems that with Benny Lunch’s death, the things he was able to bury with his lunches, and thought were gone forever, are now surfacing to challenge his daughter. But having met Andy, we root for her as she accepts the challenge.

“A gem from one of the most brilliant minds in personal finance.” — Ben Stein , author, actor, TV personality, and New York Times columnist “Investing, as it is said, is simple but it is not easy. Jonathan Clements’s fine new Little Book underscores the priceless (and price-less) value of simplicity. And his sage advice on living the good life and on spending well and saving wisely will surely make it, if not easy, at least easier for us to achieve financial peace of mind.” — John C. Bogle , founder of Vanguard and author of Enough “Nobody, and I mean nobody, can make the world of investing as easy to understand as Jonathan Clements can. In this wonderful book, he teaches Main Street how to beat Wall Street at its own game-and how to have fun along the way. This book does not stop at merely making you richer and smarter; it will even help you lead a better life.” — Jason Zweig , author of Your Money and Your Brain and editor of Benjamin Graham’s The Intelligent Investor “Jonathan Clements is one of our wisest and finest writers in the field of personal finance. This Little Book contains gems of wisdom not only about investing, but also about living a full and satisfying life.” — Burton G. Malkiel , author of A Random Walk Down Wall Street “Easy to read, easy to understan-and easy to put to work-this Little Book is a winner. I’m getting copies for our children-and their children, too.” — Charles D. Ellis , author of Winning the Loser’s Game

Rigged Money

Rigged Money

$29.95

Today’s financial landscape and what Wall Street doesn’t want you to know Rigged Money is based on one simple truth: Wall Street needs money from Main Street, not the other way around. The financial industry has convinced the general public that investing across different asset classes is the only way to protect wealth, but this is an outdated rule that no longer applies. Since asset classes—small caps, large caps, international investments, gold, and bonds—now overlap when it comes to risk and volatility parameters, the diversification effect is gone. That’s exactly what Wall Street doesn’t want you to know—that the rules of the game have changed. Risk Isn’t Constant: Pie charts lie when it comes to accurately describing the risk of stocks and bonds Dividends Are No Silver Bullet: They are designed to entice investors rather than to increase a company’s value or your net worth Buy and Hold is Dead: The financial world (and all the companies and securities in it) moves too quickly and is changing too often for this theory to hold true today Gold Is Not an Investment: Gold is today’s currency of fear, and this fear is driven by escalating government debt An unflinching look at this new financial world, Lee Munson’s Rigged Money arms today’s investors with the simple, smart, and clear advice needed to level the playing field.

A brilliant investor, a born raconteur and an overall smart-ass, Andy Kessler pulls back the curtain on the world of hedge funds and shows how the guys who run big money think, talk and act. Following on the success of Wall Street Meat, his self-published book on the lives of Wall Street stock analysts, Andy Kessler recounts his years as an extraordinarily successful hedge fund manager. To run a successful hedge fund you must have an investing edge — that special insight that allows you to reap greater returns for your clients and yourself. A quick study, Kessler gets an education in investing from some fascinating and quirky personalities. Eventually he works out his own insight into the world economy, a powerful lens that reveals to him hidden value in seemingly negative trends. Focussing on margin surplus, Kessler comes to see that current American economy, at the apex of the information revolution, is not so different from the British economy at the height of the industrial revolution. Drawing out the parallels he develops a powerful investing tool which he shares with readers. Contrarian and confident, Kessler made a fortune applying his ideas to his hedge fund. Which only proves that they may not be as crazy as they sound.

Las Vegas–the name evokes images of divorce and dice, prostitutes and payoffs, gangsters and glitz. But beneath it all is a sordid history that is much more insidious and far-reaching than ever imagined. Now, at the dawn of the new century, this neon maelstrom of ruthlessness and greed stands to not as an aberrant “sin city,” but as a natural outgrowth of the corruption and worship of money that have come to permeate American life. The Money and the Power is the most comprehensive look yet at Las Vegas and its breadth of influence. Based on five years of intensive research and interviewing, Sally Denton and Roger Morris reveal the city’s historic network of links to Wall Street, international drug traffickers, and the CIA. In doing so, they expose the disturbing connections amongst politicians, businessmen, and the criminals that harness these illegal activities. Through this lucid and gripping indictment of Las Vegas, Morris and Denton uncover a national ethic of exploitation, violence, and greed, and provide a provocative reinterpretation of twentieth-century American history. In this timely stand-alone thriller ripped from the headlines, New York Times bestselling author James Grippando, whom the Wall Street Journal calls “a writer to watch,” explores a world in which the destruction of financial institutions and the people who run them can occur in a matter of hours—perhaps even minutes. At thirty-one, Michael Cantella is a rising star at Wall Street’s premier investment bank, Saxton Silvers. Everything is going according to plan until Ivy Layton, the love of his life, vanishes on their honeymoon in the Bahamas. Fast-forward four years. It’s the eve of his thirty-fifth birthday, and Michael is still on track: successful career, beautiful new wife, piles of money. Reveling in his good fortune, Michael logs in to his computer, enters his password, and pulls up his biggest investment account: Zero balance . He tries another, and another. All of them zero. Someone has wiped him out. His only clue is a new e-mail message: Just as planned. xo xo. With these three words Michael’s life as he knows it is liquidated, along with his investment portfolio. Saxton Silvers is suddenly on the brink of bankruptcy, and he’s the leading suspect in its ruin. Michael is left alone, framed, and facing divorce, with undercover FBI agents afoot, spyware on his computer, and mysterious e-mails from a “JBU.” Embroiled in corporate espionage, he’s desperate to clear his name and realizes that several signs point to his first wife, Ivy, as a key player. But what if Ivy has come back from the dead, only to visit on Michael a fate worse than death? With echoes of The Firm , James Grippando’s newest thriller takes readers to the inner circle of Wall Street, illustrating the very real dangers of what Warren Buffett called “financial weapons of mass destruction.”

A riveting inside look at the lucrative world of professional high-stakes sports betting by a journalist who lived a secret life as a key operative in the world’s most successful sports gambling ring. When journalist Michael Konik landed an interview with Rick “Big Daddy” Matthews, the largest bet he’d placed on a sporting event was $200. Konik, an expert blackjack and poker player, was no stranger to Vegas. But Matthews was in a different league: the man was rumored to be the world’s smartest sports bettor, the mastermind behind “the Brain Trust,” a shadowy group of gamblers known for their expertise in beating the Vegas line. Konik had heard the word on the street — that Matthews was a snake, a conniver who would do anything to gain an edge. But he was also brilliant, cunning, and charming. And when he asked Konik if he’d like to “make a little money” during the football season, the writer found himself seduced . . . So began Michael Konik’s wild ride as an operative of the elite Brain Trust. In The Smart Money , Konik takes readers behind the veil of secrecy shrouding the most successful sports betting operation in America, bypassing the myths and the rumors, going all the way to its innermost sanctum. He reveals how they — and he — got rich by beating the Vegas lines and, ultimately, the multimillion-dollar offshore betting circuit. He details the excesses and the betrayals, the horse-trading and the paranoia, that are the perks and perils of a lifestyle in which staking inordinate sums of money on the outcome of a single event — sometimes as much as $1 million on a football game — is a normal part of doing business.

An intriguing look at Bernie Madoff the man, and his scam Madoff with the Money is a deeply disturbing portrait of Bernie Madoff based on dozens of exclusive, news-making interviews. From the values Madoff was taught growing up in the working class town of Laurelton, Queens to his high-life on Wall Street and the super-rich enclaves of Palm Beach and the French Riviera, bestselling author Jerry Oppenheimer follows the disgraced money manager’s trail as he works his way up the social and economic ladder, and eventually scams his trusting clients in a $50 billion Ponzi scheme. Through Oppenheimer’s in-depth reporting, you’ll discover new revelations in this startling case, and become familiar with the trusting victims-ranging from non-profit Jewish charities to the likes of seemingly sophisticated individuals such as actress Jane Fonda who would “like to shake Madoff until his teeth fall out,” the scion of the Baskin-Robbins ice cream empire who lost a bundle and was forced to rent out rooms in his house, and New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg. There’s even Madoff’s own sister-in-law and talk show host Larry King, who apparently didn’t ask the right questions when he invested. All lost their much-needed life savings, while others saw fortunes small and large evaporate in the greedy financial operations of one of history’s all-time charlatans. Madoff With the Money Delves into the details of the illusive man that lost investors billions Weaves stories of Madoff’s past with those of the present in an engaging and accessible style Explores how the financial scam that Madoff ran cost individuals and institutions billions of dollars Other titles by Oppenheimer: Toy Monster: The Big, Bad World of Mattel, and Just Desserts: Martha Stewart the Unauthorized Biography While there may be other books on the Bernie Madoff debacle, none digs as deep or goes as far to uncover the truth behind the man, and his incredible scam.

Jonah Eastman, disgraced Presidential pollster, is summoned home to Atlantic City by his ailing grandfather Mickey Price–a legendary Atlantic City gangster and owner of the Golden Prospect casino. When Mickey dies, Jonah is “persuaded” by mob boss Mario Vanni to help improve his image by launching a misinformation campaign aimed at gaining public acceptance and ultimately a way “outta the life.” So Jonah goes to war through a comical and audacious manipulation of the media which includes online rumoring, exploiting romantic myths of the mob, and orchestrating a union-backed pseudo-vigil after Vanni is arrested. To pull off these stunts, he enlists the help of his grandfather’s Prohibition-era cronies, pimply-faced hackers, a disgruntled Secret Service agent, a cagey Washington lobbyist, a slick Philadelphia publicist, and a street-fighting rabbi. Financial advisers, newspapers, television, and radio reports often qualify information about mutual funds and other investments as “according to Lipper.” They all mean the various Lipper Fund Indices developed by Mike Lipper. Now you can learn, as he has learned, the lessons of creating, managing, and preserving wealth. These lessons are vital for the newly wealthy, the would-be wealthy, the second and third generations of wealth, investment advisers and other wealth managers, and charities and other nonprofits. They come straight from Mike’s own fifty years of experience as an investor and as a member of a family that has spent four generations on Wall Street. Mike’s ideas have direct application to you: – How to measure your wealth. – You as a balance sheet. – You as the single biggest contributor to your satisfaction as an investor. – What kind or kinds of investor personalities describe you. – When and how to use unconventional thinking. – When you should use multiple portfolios. – How to share your wealth with others. There are millions of millionaires in the United States. If you’ve gotten there, or want to get there, this book will help you answer the question: What now? From the New York Society of Security Analysts Michael Lipper’s book is very timely, especially considering the current turbulence in the financial markets. So often these days, many of us get questions about money management from family, friends, and customers. Often these questions come from people who need an analytical structure to respond to what is hitting them with shocking speed. Two of Michael Lipper’s statements really hit home. First, is the dangerous failure to think about the “consequences of being wrong.” Second, is “if you do not understand the game, do not play.” This comes from his experience of avoiding Enron after reading its annual report, and being unable to figure out how they got such big earnings out of their balance sheet.” These and other lessons come from a long career in the financial business. Money Wise is filled with explanations and lessons on essential topics such as risk, your personal balance sheet, picking money managers, the dangers in trading, investor psychology, hedge funds, private equity, and investing in new trends. Read this book and give it to those asking questions on how to create and keep wealth. — William A. Hayes

Benjamin Chesluk weaves together surprising stories of everyday life in and around the Times Square redevelopment, tracing the connections between people from every level of this grand project in social and spatial engineering: the developers, architects, and designers responsible for reshaping the urban public spaces of Times Square and Forty-second Street; the experimental Midtown Community Court and its Times Square Ink. job-training program for misdemeanor criminals; encounters between NYPD officers and residents of Hell’s Kitchen; and angry confrontations between city planners and neighborhood activists over the future of the area.

From the bestselling, prize-winning author of HOUSE OF CARDS, a revelatory history of Goldman Sachs, the most dominant, controversial and feared investment bank in the world    Goldman Sachs has always projected an image of being better than its competitors. The firm—buttressed by an aggressive and sophisticated PR machine—often boasts of “The Goldman Way,” a business model predicated on hiring the most talented people, indoctrinating them in a corporate culture of “the greater good,” and honoring the 14 Principles , the first of which is “Our clients’ interests always come first.”   But there is another way of viewing Goldman — a secretive money-making machine that has straddled the line between conflict-of-interest and legitimate deal-making for decades; a firm that has exerted undue influence over government since the early part of the 20th century; a workplace rife with brutal power struggles; a Wall Street titan whose clever bet against the mortgage market in 2007 — a bet not revealed to its clients — may have made the Great Recession worse.   The firm has also shown a remarkable ability to weather financial crises, congressional, federal and SEC investigations, and numerous lawsuits, all with its reputation and enormous profits intact.  By reading thousands of pages of government documents and conducting over 100 interviews, including those with clients, competitors, regulators, current and former Goldman employees (as well as the six living men who have run Goldman), Cohan has constructed a vivid narrative that looks behind the veil of secrecy to reveal how Goldman has become so profitable, and so powerful.     William D. Cohan is the author of the New York Times bestsellers  House of Cards and The Last Tycoons , which won the 2007 FT/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award.  He writes frequently for Vanity Fair, The New York Times,   The Financial Times, Fortune, The Atlantic, and the Washington Post .  A former investment banker, Cohan is a graduate of Duke University, Columbia University’s School of Journalism and Graduate School of Business.

One of the foremost financial writers of his generation, Peter Bernstein has the unique ability to synthesize intellectual history and economics with the theory and practice of investment management. Now, with classic titles such as Economist on Wall Street, A Primer on Money, Banking, and Gold, and The Price of Prosperity —which have forewords by financial luminaries and new introductions by the author—you can enjoy some of the best of Bernstein in his earlier Wall Street days. With the proliferation of financial instruments, new areas of instability, and innovative capital market strategies, many economists and investors have lost sight of the fundamentals of the financial system—its strengths as well as its weaknesses. A Primer on Money, Banking, and Gold takes you back to the beginning and sorts out all the pieces. Peter Bernstein skillfully addresses how and why commercial banks lend and invest, where money comes from, how it moves from hand to hand, and the critical role of interest rates. He explores the Federal Reserve System and the consequences of the Fed’s actions on the overall economy. But this book is not just about the past. Bernstein’s novel perspective on gold and the dollar is critical for today’s decision makers, as he provides extensive views on the future of money, banking, and gold in the world economy. This illuminating story about the heart of our economic system is essential reading at a time when developments in finance are more important than ever.
