Nautical Tile
What color should i paint my baseboards?
I am remodeling my downstairs half bath. The walls are painted Notable Hue (Sherwin Williams), almost a nautical blue color. The floor is that Mikado Ebano slate tile. It’s black and gray with hints of blue and also looks like wood. The vanity is also a charcoal color with a frosted clear vessel sink, with a funky looking faucet.so it’s very modern looking. Keeping in mind that the bathroom is not very large My question is, I have no idea what to do about the baseboards. I have read all the blogs and now im even more confused? Should i paint them to match all the other trim in the house ,which is crisp linen. Then i was thinking of painting them a light gray color. Could someone please steer me in the right direction!
I’m noticing a trend with the other responses that you might want to RUN AWAY FROM lol.
Contrast is NOT…I repeat, NOT a good thing when you are trying to avoid making a small space look smaller.
Before I start ranting about misconceptions…Go with a charcoal or a hazy blue. DONT go gloss…DONT go white. Keep it within the color family you already have established in the room. The less contrast you have, the less you’re going to make the room look small.
If you’re a Sherwin Williams fan, I’d take the color pallet they have (don’t buy it, just go in and look at it) and pick something that’s slightly lighter, but not overly different.
