Ornament Series

does anyone actually watch the box sets of dvd’s or are they just like ornaments?
I’ve box sets of series that I’ve liked but with exception of when i was in bed sick I’ve never watched any. Its said that the likes of 24 and sopranos only recoup their money through DVD sales
i’ll watch them at least once. it generally don’t what a series on tv cos then you are obliged to be sat down in front of the box at the same day on the same day week in week out. i started watching heros on sci-fi then had a party to go to and missed the episode, then never got round to watching the repeat so have stopped watching it now. can’t wait for the box set to come out!!
boxsets rule.
i have family guy 1,3,4
complete blackadder
star trek tng and ds9 (7 seasons of each)
24 (1,2,3,4)
lost
and there are so many more out there that i’d like. i keep checking ebay for bargains!!!

Ornament of Reason $43.99 In the Root of the Middle Way , Nagarjuna presents a magical method of reasoning, inviting everyone who encounters these lucid and fearless contemplations to follow him on a journey to the heart of transcendent insight. Inspired by the Buddha's teachings on profound emptiness in the Prajnaparamita Sutras, Nagarjuna sets out to probe what appears to be the most fundamental facts of the world, challenging us to question even our most deeply ingrained ideas and what seem to be self-evident facts. In a series of unassuming and penetrating investigations, he asks basic questions, such as: What does it mean for something to occur? What is meant by “going” or by “coming”? Does the eye see? Does fire burn fuel? What is an example of being right? What does it mean to be wrong? Nagarjuna extends an invitation to open-minded and unprejudiced inquiry, and from his reader he asks for nothing more and nothing less than sincere and honest answers. Yet where are our answers? Once we begin to follow Nagarjuna's clear and direct steps, the gateway to the inconceivable emerges. Perhaps unexpectedly. The present work contains Nagarjuna's verses on the Middle Way, accompanied by Mabja Jangchub Tsöndrü's famed commentary, the Ornament of Reason . Active in the twelfth century, Mabja was among the first Tibetans to rely on the works of the Indian master Candrakirti, and his account of the Middle Way exercised a deep and lasting influence on the development of Madhyamaka philosophy in all four schools of Buddhism in Tibet. Sharp, concise, and yet comprehensive, the Ornament of Reason has been cherished by generations of scholar-practitioners. The late Khunu Lama Tenzin Gyaltsen Rinpoche, a renowned authority on the subject, often referred to this commentary as “the best there is.” A visual outline of the commentary has been added that clearly shows the structure of each chapter and makes the arguments easier to follow. |

Urban Design: Ornament and Decoration $47.95 ‘Urban Design: Ornament and Decoration’ focuses on decorating the city and how ornament has been used to bring delight to the urban scene. The authors show how the pattern and distribution of street and square and other major elements in the city can be enhanced by the judicious use of decorative surface treatment and by the careful placing of hard and soft landscape features. This second edition, updated by Cliff Moughtin and now available in paperback, includes a new chapter on mud architecture. Case studies of city decoration are also outlined to bring together the ideas discussed and to show how ornament and decoration can be used to emphasize the five components of city form: the path, the node, the edge, the landmark and the district. *Generously illustrated with case studies *New chapter on mud architecture *Part of the successful Cliff Moughtin urban design series |

Biedermann amp; Sons C9200 Ornament Floating Candles $24.18 More than 800 years ago the village of Schwaebisch Gmuend was founded by the Kings of Staufen who were responsible for settling this region known for its artisans specializing in the production of gold silver and brass jewelry as well as decorative ornaments. These works of art were shipped to markets in Italy and Western Europe. The tradition in metal arts survives today in this medieval walled town located near Stuttgart Germany. For generations families have engaged in ornament cutting designing their own unique decorations to give friends and relatives as gifts during the holiday season. The Biedermanns originated the creation of a single Christmas ornament commemorating each year drawing on the talent from this region. In the fall of 1970 we contacted several artisan families who among them designed and cut the first ornament which depicted the town square of Schwaebisch Gmuend. Since that first edition each year a group of artists has selected a single design from those submitted by the townspeople and the ornament to be cut for the coming season is chosen. This is now a tradition that the people of Schwaebisch Gmuend and America cherish. Designs through the years have been selected from those created by school children and adults. Our Master Cutter Georg Neumaier directs the production of the Biedermann Commemorative Ornament and is also involved in selecting the years winning design. The now very valuable original brass ornament was supplemented in 1984 by our first edition silverplated ornament. Beginning in 1987 alternate years depict the story of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Nineteen ninetyeight began the first edition of the Christmas Quotations Series of ornaments. We take pride in offering the Biedermann Commemorative Ornaments to you the collector and to all connoisseurs of tasteful high quality craftsmanship. Biedermann amp; Sons D2008S Christmas Commemorative Silver Snowflake Ornament $49.4 More than 800 years ago the village of Schwaebisch Gmuend was founded by the Kings of Staufen who were responsible for settling this region known for its artisans specializing in the production of gold silver and brass jewelry as well as decorative ornaments. Since 1970 the Biedermann Commemorative Christmas Ornaments have been handmade by the artisans of Schwaebisch Gmuend Germany for centuries |

A History of Women in the West $34.95 Drawing on myriad sources–from the faint traces left by the rocking of a cradle at the site of an early medieval home to an antique illustration of Eve’s fall from grace-this second volume in the celebrated series offers new perspectives on women of the past. Twelve distinguished historians from many countries examine the image of women in the masculine mind, their social condition, and their daily experience from the demise of the Roman Empire to the genesis of the Italian Renaissance. More than in any other era, a medieval woman’s place in society was determined by men; her sexuality was perceived as disruptive and dangerous, her proper realm that of the home and cloister. The authors draw upon the writings of bishops and abbots, moralists and merchants, philosophers and legislators, to illuminate how men controlled women’s lives. Sumptuary laws regulating feminine dress and ornament, pastoral letters admonishing women to keep silent and remain chaste, and learned treatises with their fantastic theories about women’s physiology are fully explored in these pages. As adoration of the Virgin Mary reached full flower by the year 1200, ecclesiastics began to envision motherhood as a holy role; misogyny, however, flourished unrestrained in local proverbs, secular verses, and clerical thought throughout the period. Were women’s fates sealed by the dictates of church and society? The authors investigate legal, economic, and demographic aspects of family and communal life between the sixth and the fifteenth centuries and bring to light the fleeting moments in which women managed to seize some small measure of autonomy over their lives. The notion that courtly love empowered feudalwomen is discredited in this volume. The pattern of wear on a hearthstone, fingerprints on a terra-cotta pot, and artifacts from everyday life such as scissors, thimbles, spindles, and combs are used to reconstruct in superb detail the commonplace tasks that shaped women’s existence insi |

The now very valuable original brass ornament was supplemented in 1984 by our first edition silver-plated ornament. Beginning in 1987 alternate years depict the story of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Nineteen ninety-eight began the first edition of the Christmas Quotations Series of ornaments. We take pride in offering the Biedermann Commemorative Ornaments to you the collector and to all connoisseurs of tasteful high quality craftsmanship. These works of art were shipped to markets in Italy and Western Europe. The tradition in metal arts survives today in this medieval walled town located near Stuttgart Germany. For generations families have engaged in ornament cutting designing their own unique decorations to give friends and relatives as gifts during the holiday season. Biedermann Sons HP15AM Glass 15 Hour Votive Holder – Amber- Pack of 12 $36.43 More than 800 years ago the village of Schwaebisch Gmuend was founded by the Kings of Staufen who were responsible for settling this region known for its artisans specializing in the production of gold silver and brass jewelry as well as decorative ornaments.
