Periwinkle Fairy
critique my poetry please!?
Tearing eyes splatter the pages morphing the meaning second guessing the words so deliberately written.
Is she really naive enough to believe the promises that the world makes to her?
She sits up in bed in her old periwinkle pajamas wondering if this is how life is going to turn out.
He walks out the door down the unfamiliar alleyway passing her room like there was never any hope in the first place.
Like it wasn’t his job.
He has no more to give.
Does he realize what he is leaving behind?
Too late.
The door slams.
The tooth fairy packs her things
While Santa assembles his sleigh.
Teary eyes would be better. This is written more like a story than a poem. It could make a good poem if it were more poetic; your thoughts are good. Rhythm is what a poem is about. Try to drop some of the meaningless words; shorten some lines to blend it together. Very long lines, then too short lines. If you walked out the door, how do you pass it?
