Sagittarius Zodiac
Sagittarius zodiac coin encased in plastic. Has anyone ever seen something like this?
I came across a gold coin encased in clear plastic (i guess as a paper weight or something) at a yard sale a long time ago. I was a coin collector at that point, but had never seen anything like this. I don’t know if it’s really gold, or what is is. The plastic is pretty scratched up, but the coin inside looks to be in perfect condition. This suggests to me that the coin was made by the same person or company who encased it in clear plastic. Has anyone ever seen this? Are there coins like this sold as decorations? Or is this possibly valuable. Some coins I see online are nearly $300, but none of them look like this. This one has a depiction of Sagittarius on its front, and a sun on it’s back with the zodiac calendar in a circle around the outside of the sun. I never thought this was worth much, but seeing those prices online made me wonder.
I’ve seen similar things to that at the Dollar Store. I’m betting it’s not worth much…if anything. It would explain why the plastic was so scratched up. However, that’s not to say that there aren’t things like that available out there that would be worth something, but that one in particular…I doubt it.
